Portraits
By order I paint portraits of men, animals and also of those passed away, on condition that sufficient material is present.
METHOD
A good likeness can only arise in cooperation with the one to be painted.
The first contact takes place where the model feels most comfortable. We search for a characteristic pose. I make sketches and take pictures and together we dicide about the dimenssions of the painting-to-be.
In my studio I turn the information into several sketches. The client decides which will be turned into a portrait.
The actual painting job happens in the studio. Within this partly intuitive proces it might be necessairy for the model to pose a few times.
This portrait of Franzy, a deceased German Shephard, has a background in which scenes out of his sporting life appear.
